ART anyone?!?
It turned out that our idea of art is something that is stunning and engaging, something that is part of culture, a work that is done by the creativeness of human mind, and it also aids human in expressing himself. For a moment or two, I had the notion that art is everything that we see around us. However, Ms. Jewel said that if art is everything that we see around us…the cabinet, the blackboard, and the trees for example, then the entire world must be a vast museum. It made me want to say that every object doesn’t need to be in a museum to be considered as “art”. A simple ball pen, an ordinary table, a huge mountain, a tree, or even a pair of rubber slippers can be considered as an object of art, uhhh... in some way... they are. If one would look at it in the context of human creativeness, then those objects are deemed to be labeled as art. Even only at one point in their existence, w/c is pretty much the moment that they were invented.
Another issue was raised in our discussion… Are nature and technology can be considered “art” or are they “equal” to art? Again, my answer is yes, I do consider those things as art. Nature is created by God, the greatest artist of all while Technology is made by human creativity and skill. But then again, our professor said that art is something that is immortal and unchanging which is pretty much the opposite of what nature is. As for technology, it can only be considered art if and only if it is made to “make a difference”… and not just to gain profit from it. One way or another, I was convinced that technology and nature are not equal to art.

Sisters! Ate Nikka and I
I chose these pieces of drawings because these express the thoughts and emotions of its creator. These works may not be as extravagant as Michel Angelo’s and Da Vinci’s but it certainly conveys a child’s insights and feelings regarding her family. The drawings obviously lack "form", "originality", "significant history", and "universal substance" but to me and my family, it has meaning. For us, her sketches show her opinion and feelings about our family. It shows how she views our relationship. Remy’s works make me feel warm inside. Through her works, I can see the representation of her love towards our family.
I believe that an art must always capture human emotions. And I saw that in my sister’s works that’s why I decided to write something about her and presented some of her “art works” in this blog entry.
This is my first blog ever!
Actually, I never intend to make a blog such as this because honestly, I don't want other people (people who are not close to me) to know my thoughts and feelings. I'm also not used into making online journals where I can write anything that happen to my everday life. Heck! I don't even have a diary! But for the sake of my artapre class, I will try to make this blog work! :)
